Whatever help you and your community need we can help with advice, support, instruction, media relations, references and information. Just email us with your issues and we will respond via land mail to avoid surveillance by unknown forces. I think we should have a group like this who can help refer people to the right connections/info anonymously!! Cops/CIA are at every EarthFirst meeting and Greenpeace gathering...don't think they're not totally inflitrated!! At least these people don't even want your name or real address!! Sounds safer than any activist meeting I've been to! Anyway its for people who have noone to turn to for help and that's really needed!!

Ben it doesn't rock at all. There are some good implementations of skill / desire matching that rely on encrytpion, but you'd be mad to email this hotmail address with anything other than I'm an expert in solar heating etc

You only need the sort of level of secrecy implied here if you do stuff that's gonna get you into trouble, fair enough, if it's human rights work within repressive regimes etc then you wouldn't trust this idea an inch.

Everything else is either out in the open anyway cos of your use of phone, email, attendance at meetings etc or more covert because you value your security, in which case again you'd be mad to trust some Indymedia post with a hotmail address.

As noted with the first comments the problem with such a secrecy based contacts system is you don't know who is in there - ie anyone could get in touch saying they were an expert with lots of help to offer in X area - so community blah who get in touch and say they need help with X (whatever it is, let's hope it's not illegal or anything) - so they may then get advice and maybe be put in touch with this 'anyone', who could be well, anyone.
