Nasty School Victimises Girls for Hairstyles

Silly Billy | 08.02.2002 17:18

Two girls at a school in Essex were put into "Isolation" classes for allegedly "seeking attention" (well- known crime, that !).

One might have thought that teachers had more important things to worry about, but they insist on proving that so-called schooling in Britain is almost nothing to do with education but everything to do with hectoring morals, hounding of individual expression, and spurious "equality" via the uniform. (When will uniforms ever be abolished? When ? No other country seems to insist on them quite so much. Odd this show on 'equality' in a country and system which makes such a big thing about class and status in education )
Chloe Hazlewood and Faye Cowig (both aged 15 ) were treated as paraiahs by the staff at John Bramston School, Witham, Essex, for their dreadlock style hair, which cost incidentally about £ 85 to have done.
They have withdrawn from the school as a protest, quite reasonably, we can all agree. Why not send them a message of support, and a complaint to the staff ?
