An event is coming up this Sat, organised by
International Socialist Resistance (ISR).

Protest Outside Andersen’s
(financial consultants to government and USA bankrupt
firm Enron)

Come and protest at the fat cat firm Andersen.
They have drafted government reports supporting,
privatisation of public services. They have then been
involved in contracts linked to privatisation schemes
worth £8.3 billion. So they are in effect giving
themselves huge contracts, while are public services
are being destroyed. A subsidiary of this firm even
employed Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt
for 3 years and supplied staff for Gordon Brown.
Andersen were also the accountants for Enron, the USA
energy company that collapsed recently. Andersen are
accused of doctoring financial records to hide the
state of Enron’s difficulties. Enron company directors
sold their shares before it was known that the company
would collapse, they made millions while workers were
left destitute. Also Enron paid over 200 USA
politicians supposedly in return for political
favours. Enron also met with Labour ministers, shortly
afterwards government policy on gas fired power
stations was changed to allow Enron a share of the
market. They gave £36,000 to the Labour Party.
We are protesting at the sleaze and exploitation these
companies and their friends in government create.
One of the Socialist Party councillors who have successfully fought
privatisation in Lewisham will hand in a letter of
protest. We will have a lucky volunteer dressed as a fat
cat.
We fight for a Socialist world free of corruption and
exploitation.
We demand the bringing back into public ownership all
services privatised by the Tories and Labour, under
democratic control.
No compensation for fat cats who’ve made millions from
privatisation.
