EMERGENCY CAMPAIGN: Stop the Expulsion of Nico Sguiglia

On January 30th, police violently attacked a peaceful protest camp at the gates of the immigrant detention center in Malaga, Spain.
Two of the protestors were unlawfully arrested, severely beaten and kept in prison for two days. Currently they are on police bail.
On February 1st, the Immigration Office notified one of them, Nicolas Sguiglia, that a deportation order will be activated on Saturday 9th of February. The appeal process sets the FINAL DEADLINE on February 15th. Nico would be deported to Italy, as he has dual Italian/Argentinean nationality. Nico is a permanent resident of Malaga, where he has been studying for several years. He has full legal rights to live anywhere in the European Union, however the Spanish government is using a legal loophole that gives full power to the local Government Representative to deport foreigners without charges being proven in court.
People in Spain have started an international campaign to prevent Nicos deportation. [www.noborder.org]. To support them, send a fax to the regional governor of Malaga or send money to the campaign. Details see below.

SAY NO TO THE EXPULSION EXPEDIENT TO NICOLÁS SGUIGLIA!!! STOP DEPORTATIONS

With the present writing we want to express our total support and solidarity with our mates, who have started an unlimited camp in front of the CIE (Detention Center) on Thursday 24th January. The protest was directed against the detention of a group of immigrants in Almeria. They were demonstrating peacefully for the right to live in dignity. Also we want to manifest our rejection to the disproportionate and brutal police behaviour. Once the camp was dismantled and when the demostrators were leaving, the police charged against them incomprehensibly. As a result, they imprisoned two people who were previously severely beaten up inside the CIE.
As if this wasn't enough, one of the imprisoned and beaten up people, Nicolás Sguiglia, having double nationality Argentino-Italian, has received an expulsion order this Friday, February 1st, which can be executed in 8 days. We find this measure unacceptable and will not tolerate it. As you should know being in charge, your repression against people who fight for better living conditions with dignity for everybody has never been a good solution. For that reason we demand your responsibility for the events as well as the inmediate annulment of the expulsion order given to Nicolás Sguiglia.
