What about MP's who represent the constituency?

The U$ plans an Orwellian perpetual war- what you can do to stop them

In the face of U$ plans to create an Orwellian perpetual war
how can democracy be restored? I have come to a remarkable conclusion: we need representatives who represent us, The election of Martin Bell (for all his faults) shows that it is possible to get independent MP's elected. There is nothing in principle to stop a indymedia MP from election (other than apathy and mis-education)
I fear that the coming totalitarian onslaught from the U$ will dispense with apathy, and turn most of the country into xemophobic morons, it will also however invigorate the educated freedom loving egalitarians.
It is this left leaning minority in whose hands our childrens future rests. Activists need to prepare for attacks on civil liberties and a propoganda onslaught.
I believe that indymedia is a good vehicle and that a massive outreach project to society at large is necesary: advertise indymedia wherever you can, conversation, graffiti, mainstream internet chatrooms, put leaflets though doors, whatever.
If a reactionary movement against U$ imperialism can be created, then is the time for independent MP's.
These MP's from the activist community must be 'suicide' MP's: that is they do not expect or want a political career, they go in for one term only and represent the anticapitalist views which frequently surface on these pages.
To get these independent MP's elected may mean duping the public into beliveing that they are more moderate than they in fact are, but i feel that this confidence trick pales into insignificance when compared to the misinformation and lies that the government typically feed us.
