Intimidation Process against Ayaba Cho Lucas in Iserlohn, prosecuted for denouncing deportation and criminilisation of refugee

Ayaba Cho Lucas, Cameroonian, a human right activist and a coordinator of The VOICE Africa Forum in NRW is charged by officials of the Foreigners’ Office (Ausländerbehörde) for "insult" – a clear intimidation process against denouncing deportation. Protest will take placen on Thursday, 31.01.2002, at 12 noon in front of the Inferior Court (Amtsgericht) in Iserlohn.

The cancelling of first court date on the 06.12.01 was done for the discriminatory convenience of the state prosecution against political engagement of refugees in Germany. Ayaba did not receive any former invitation to participate in that hearing. Sabine Patze, a friend of the The VOICE Forum in Iserlohn informed us that she was invited to testify in the court on the 06.12.02 as a witness against Ayaba Cho Lucas.
Ayaba Cho Lucas will represent himself in the court of Iserlohn on Thursday, 31.January 2002, 12h.
We protest against the discrimination of refugees, the prosecution, humiliation and criminalisation of Ayaba Cho Lucas by the foreign authorities of Iserlohn.
We appeal to the German public to take into consideration the refugees demands for an open society without discrimination in Germany and Europe.
We protest the prosecution of Iserlohn

Info:
On the 16.7.01, Halirou Ayouwa from Togo, a room mate who lived with Ayaba Cho Lucas in the Refugee camp in Iserlohn, was arrested and put into deportation detention by the officials of the authority. When Ayaba first tried to get information at the responsible Foreigners’ Office, they refused to give him information about Halirou Ayouwa. On the 19th July, numerous refugees gathered in front of the office and sang for the freedom of Halirou. Ayaba held short speeches against the discrimination and criminalization of refugees which were translated into various languages. The parole "Nazis morden, der Staat schiebt ab, es ist alles das gleiche Rassistenpack!" ("Nazis kill, the state deports, it’ all the same racist scum!"), which is often used at demonstrations, was also shouted. This protest is been taken as an offence by the Ausländerbehörde officials to bring a charge against Ayaba for insult. The Staatsanwaltschaft (public prosecutors) now accuse Ayaba of being the "spokesman" of the protest and insulting the Ausländerbehörde officials by calling them "racist scum and criminals". Ayaba insists on the fact that he has at no time called anyone personally a racist or a criminal. He expressed his opinion about the discriminating treatment of refugees and this he will do again and again, regarding the current situation.
This process is about an attempt to intimidate refugees who are not willing to take the injustice of the deportation practice. The Ausländerbehörde in Iserlohn is also known for its speedy enforcement of the deportation laws.
With the process against Ayaba, we call on all the anti-deportation activists to support the unity of the refugee fight against deportation.
Ayaba has organised several demonstrations this year in NRW, his political demonstrations against deportation and The VOICE Forum Campaign for the Abolition of the "Residenzpflict" Residential restriction law for refugees in Germany are recorded in this year annual reports by the state secret service in North-Rhein- Westfalia.
The refugees will participate in the hearing at the Amtsgericht Iserlohn on the 31.01.2002.. The process starts at 12 o’clock in room C 107, ground floor, Friedrichstraße 108-110.

We call for all refugees to support themselves in their various places and inform themselves of the engagements of other refugees. Make reports about the abuses of asylum rights and the social exclusion of refugees in your towns and regions.
Refugees are isolated for years in different towns or camps in the woods without the right to indepedent homes or places. Regular meetings and visit between refugees are faced with much difficulties without regular means of transport, also refugees do have problem with the "Residenzpflicht"-Residential Obligation and restriction law confined the refugees to their camps local districts.
