USA Feds shut down raisethefist.com; Indymedia next?

spaz drone | 25.01.2002 13:40

Federal Agents today raided the home and confiscated the servers and all political literature of the founder of www.raisethefist.com an anarchist indymedia website.

Please educate yourselves about the continuing incursion of the federal government into all of our basic rights. In a blatent act of selective harrassment, federal law enforcement and security personnel with the aid of local law enforcement have raided the home of the founder of the website that stood for real resistence to the injustice of the current corporate wolld hegemony. If you havent already heard anything about this, find out more here. Indymedia could well be next if we dont do anything about the crimes of the federal government:

there should have been some time to prepare for the ineveitable (whatever that is).
remember, IMCs server (whatever that is) crapped out quite recently, and people began to ask what to do. some 'conspiracy theory' sites (whatever they are) were set up as ad-hoc substitutes, and there are also other sites covering similar ground to IMC, such as commondreams, autonomedia and tao news. keep checking these, see if your own website can be converted to act in the IMC style and if so, publicise it. I suggest using an innoucuous name.

Anyone know the Legal status of FBI hacking!

If the FBI hack a UK based site it may be grounds for a private prosicution. Unfortunately i'm not a lawyer so could not tell you if this is so. It would be nice if the legally minded of you out there in IMC-Land could post about this. At least four sets of Laws (Local, Scotish, UK, EU and possibly UN)cover this issue so one must have a way to stop them.

raisethefist.com is not a UK based website. It is in Los Angeles. It was in one guy's bedroom. The interesting thing is that it had logs of access attempts from governemt entities in the UK, germany, US, israel, spain etc. It also had a database of pictures of people thought to be undercover feds that had been hanging around black blocs at demonstrations etc.

Not so long ago it was reported that FBI and CIA were recruiting "patriotic" crackers. This was before 911. I'll bet they've got lots of deranged little bastards working for them. After all they hire and train murderers don't they?
