warming to the theme

while still in denial of the central hypothesis of the events of 9-11, because acceptance of the 'conspiracy' theory or reality vision, and the 'madness' involved in such acceptance would presumably destroy their neatly constructed 'socialist' and materialist weltanschauung, and this way leads to 'madness', at least the coterie of 'radical' journalists are warming to some of the circumstantial but undeniable evidence surrounding the precursors and consequences of the events

have read counterpunch since sept 15 or so religiously. They're great writers with a flair for entertainment value as well.

Circumstantial

A lot of this evidence is circumstantial, eg the US went to war because Unocal wanted a pipeline through Afghanistan. Other 'evidence' they cite is rumour, rather than fact. While conspiracies may happen, what the authors have outlined could also be seen as a confluence of coincidence and incompetance. Be careful when you jump to conclusions and blame everything on the state, because you could be led by ideology and paranoia rather than objective truth.

Re-Walker Lindh (American detainee) - from Yahoo news:-

".....And at that training camp, Walker apparently learned of possible attacks on the United States.

``Within the first several weeks of his arrival there, in or about early June 2001, Walker learned from one of his instructors that bin Laden had sent people to the United States to carry out several suicide operations,'' the complaint said.

But he stayed on for a seven-week course which included courses in weapons, orienteering, navigation, explosives and battlefield combat, it said.

Walker told U.S. officials that bin Laden visited the camp three to five times and gave lectures. Walker and four other trainees met with bin Laden who thanked them for taking part in jihad (holy war), the complaint said.

Once his training was completed Walker was given several options which included traveling outside Afghanistan to conduct operations against the United States and Israeli targets.

Instead, Walker decided to go to the front lines to fight the Northern Alliance, the complaint said.

It was then that the suicide hijackers slammed planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Walker said he heard of the attacks by radio shortly after.

``According to Walker, it was his and his comrades' understanding at the time that bin Laden had ordered the attacks and that additional attacks would follow,'' the complaint said.

After Sept. 11, Walker said all of bin Laden's training camps were closed with everyone sent to the front lines to protect bin Laden and defend against possible U.S. attacks."

1. Please give CONVINCING evidence as to why Walker and his Al Quaida buddies thought their leader Bin Laden was behind 9-11, and yet Dwight Heet (who obviously have access to greater knowlege) and his conspiracy Nazis think not.

2. Why should we believe the CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence behind the multifarious conspiracy theory garbage and not believe the CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence of Walker's alleged remarks.

You'll accept any old shite as long as it has the Great Seal of official approval, buddy-boy. You're an insider to what? Your censorious attitudes only suggest you're insider to a mental straight-jacket. Or worse. You uphold the official paradigm only. Any other opinion becomes subject to your court of law.
By the way, this isn't the start of a dialogue.
