No Sweat! picket of Camden Gap on Saturday 5/1/2002

Members of No Sweat! - the UK campaign against sweatshops - in north London organised a picket of Camden Town clothes shop The Gap on Saturday.

Report of Camden (North London) Gap Picket on Sat. 5/1/2002

There were about 15 of us there and we handed out a shed load of leaflets. Lots of shoppers knew about what Gap and other big clothing firms are up to (and are against it); 14 people joined No Sweat. After the picket was over and we'd all gone into the pub opposite for a drink and a chat the manager (I presume) sent one of his staff to remove any evidence of our presence from the street (leaflets, stickers etc. off the floor or lampposts). All in all, the picket was good fun and it was useful too!
