what do you think imc uk is? A company with 200 people with top equipment in a comfortable office block who just sit there and wait for their pensions?
An army of high-skilled teccies who take the piss of you? A government funded multimedia project which should bloody well provide quality service?
All wrong. It's a grassroots project, no profit of course, people are working on it in their spare time.
Bad enough that we don't manage to fix the video stuff. If you know someone who wants to do it point them to the tecc list.

upload it as .mpg .wmv or .qt

fucks up, depending on client line speed and stallman's load it
seems.
the only work around is to re-upload time and again, or BETTER:
don't use real media at all - use non-streamed media
for video: .mpg .wmv .qt
for audio: .mp3
have put some text similar to this on top of the site.
back in NOVEMBER i have posted this as a recommendation to the tech
list and personally to hamish as well, see
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-uk-tech/2001-November/000442.html
and btw, my dear complainers: i'm getting tired of running the uk-tech shit as a one-man show. it would be nice to see some people helping instead of getting flak.
