CRUCIAL TESTS IN POISONED BERKSHIRE SUBURB

The Earley area of Reading, Berkshire comes under scrutiny this month when scientists will be carrying out specialist testing over two days at a particular property: 337 Wokingham Road, Earley on Tuesday and Wednesday next week (8th-9th January).

The testing has been commissioned by an insurance company who are the insurers for the mortgage company with whom the property is financed.

The owner of the 4 bedroom property, Ray Fox, is aware that his debilitating and life threatening illnesses are due to the fact that the house is radioactive. Earlier investigations have already found extremely high levels of uranium and plutonium. Because of the chemicals and radioactive materials that have leached onto Ray Fox's land and into the house over a period of time via the adjoining rainwater drainage systems, his health has deteriorated and he is now registered disabled. Although he has been advised by medical specialists not to live at the property, the local authority, Wokingham District Council, has not to date rehoused him.

The results of the scientific tests are expected to confirm the series of medical diagnoses of Mr Fox's illnesses by the German toxicology expert, Dr Josef Kees.

Local residents, environmental activists and supporters of Ray Fox will be at the property during the two days. They plan to highlight the health problems that are affecting others living on local housing estates in the area. These problems include the high incidence of specific types of cancer.

EDITORS' NOTES

The property backs onto a small housing estate built in 1997 on an old Shell petrochemical depot that was operational from the 1930s for several decades

Looking at the Truth is the newly formed campaign network that is backing calls for Ray Fox to be rehoused; for the full history of the Shell site to be made public and the resultant industrial pollution affecting local residents' health to be addressed.
