8000 on streets for peace in Cologne / Germany

Last saturday, 8000 people demonstrated in Cologne against US - war in Afghanistan. A video of the demonstration is now online.

Last saturday, a big anti - war manifestation took place in Cologne / Germany. 8000 people went on street to protest against US - War in Afghanistan andpossible other attacks to other countries. It was organized by a local group out of the peace - movement. he demonstrators claimed for a direct stop of the attacks on Afghanistan and any preparation for other wars. Members of socialist and communist parties, peace groups, autonomous groups, people from the trade unions participated at the manifestation. There was also big group of PKK - orientied kurdish people. They claimed for peace in kurdistan and freedom for the PKK - chairman Abdualla Öcalan, who is arrested in turkey. Although there were some PKK - flags shown, the police did not intervent. (The PKK is forbidden in germany).
