Excellent bookfair in Manchester

Steve Booth | 08.12.2001 23:35

Saturday 8th December Manchester Anarchist Bookfair judged a success

We went along to the Manchester Anarchist bookfair at Bridge 5 Mill, Beswick St, Ancoats

There was a fair spread of stuff there, including a lot of green stuff, Manchester Earth First people, Ron Marsden and the Solidarity Federation, an AK Press stall, a cafe, talks, the Mark Barnsley campaign and various booksellers, with even a copy of the Brian Bamford rival 'Raven' magazine on sale.

It was a really good day out, a bit like the London bookfair in microcosm, but much quieter. The organisers say there will be another one in May.

there are now two websites in manchester, to our knowledge that posted details of the bookfair. i'm not sure how much publicity there was otherwise - some fliers, emails and word of mouth i believe. anyone looking for information about future events in manchester and the north west, or wishing to publicise something, can try the diary on the loombreaker website, or the clash avoidance calendar at
