WOMEN REPORT BACK FROM THE WORLD CONFERENCE AGAINST RACISM

Around 70 women from many campaigning organisations attended a conference organised by the UK Section Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF).
They heard from women who represented their own NGOs at the World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa in September.
Speakers focussed on Multiple Discriminations against women, Trafficking in women and girls, Racism and Economic Justice, and how armed conflicts disproportionately affect women.
WILPF is an NGO, working in over 40 countries worldwide. It recognises that peace depends on international economic and social justice. It focuses on a women’s perspective.
