URGENT REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE

Before Eddie Hatcher's mother passed away, she had returned to work as a
full time nursing supervisor mainly to pay for the continued services of the
Private Investigator in Eddies case. During this time the PI had a lengthy
interview with one of the jurors. After the interview the juror stated that had
he known some of the things he later learned he never would have voted
guilty. But more importantly, the PI learned that one of the jurors
committed perjury during voir dire, jury questioning, and as well provided
perjured information on the juror questionnaire each potential juror was
asked to complete.


This juror, when asked on the questionnaire if she had ever been a defendant
or charged with a crime stated no. During voir dire, this juror repeatedly
stated that she had not been charged with a crime and avoided any and all
responses wherein the information would come to light. We have discovered
that not only has this juror been charged with some very serious felonies, but
also that she has a close relationship with Robeson County District Attorney
Johnson Britt.


In the summer of 2000, this juror, Yolanda Barnwell, was a witness to the
homicide of her best friend. As a witness, she was asked by DA Johnson Britt
to serve as one of the state's main witnesses against the accused murderer.
During the time this case was awaiting trial, Yolanda Barnwell was arrested
for possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine and for carrying a
concealed weapon. There are currently countless individuals serving time in
the state prison system for having been convicted of charges exactly as those.
Yet, Robeson County DA Johnson Britt dismissed these charges for Yolanda
Barnwell. No reason was given or documented, the charges were merely
wiped away. Also, other charges against Barnwell were disposed of or
reduced by Johnson Britt.


It is obvious that when asked if she knew DA Johnson Britt during voir dire,
Barnwell withheld this valuable information. She refused to acknowledge or
even hint at the very close relationship she had with DA Johnson Britt. But
just as important, DA Johnson Britt refused to disclose the relationship he
had with this juror. This is misconduct that tainted the Eddie Hatcher case
from the beginning. And other events of misconduct are being unraveled as
we enter this investigation.


The only way we can continue to expose these atrocities and bring justice for
Eddie Hatcher and his mother is through the continued work of the PI. We
do not have the funds to pay for these services. We have no one else to ask
but you, our supporters. Will you please help us to continue the
much-needed service of our PI? Even though he is self-employed and does a
great deal of indigent work, he is willing to reduce his rates out of respect for
Eddie and his mother, the late Thelma Clark, But this investigation involves
countless hours of interviews, searching records and other tasks. Please help
us.
