I've noticed the Guardian tends to go bonkers whenever the issue of Animal Rights comes up. Wonder what their investment in hurting animals is all about?

This is to be expected from what is ultimately a mainstream paper. All of the mainstream press is going to play a part in the demonisation and subsequant repression of groups of people... It seems that the animal rights movement is going to be a convenient tool for bringing the war against terrorism (t.w.a.t.) to the doorsteps of people in britain. The guardian (and some of the other 'left wing' papers) happily demonised the mayday protesters, leaving police free to unlawfully detain 2000 people in oxford circus. They will do the same with the animal rights movement if they are asked.
