NGO implicated in Pakistani anthrax

The confirmed case of Anthrax in Pakistan came from a letter mailed by a social services agency, who, if they really were a guilty NGO, you would think would have the sense to use a phony mailbox address.

Anthrax hits a local daily : "Pakistan's largest Urdu language daily "Jang" has been hit by a confirmed positive case of anthrax in Karachi, Sindh, "The News" reported Friday. The shocking development put its editorial staff on antibiotics and to move the staff out of the infected area until is is properly disinfected, the daily further said. A "Jang" reporter received the anthrax in an envelope on October 3, supposed to contain a press release. Instead it carried white powder. The administration acted promptly and sent the powder for lab examination at the Aga Khan University Hospital . Physicians have prescribed antibiotics for the exposed staff who work mainly in the editorial department, it noted." As well in an attempt to implicate an NGO in the crime "The hospital laboratory confirmed on Thursday that the white powdery substance as anthrax spores. The letter containing anthrax was sent by a local social welfare organization."
