(Dervis Orhan was a prisoner who had been found guilty
for being PKK member in 1990; later left his previous
ideas and organization. Since in mid 90s he defines
himself as an "anarchist".)
Yesterday (30th of October) Dervis Orhan has been
released from Mersin Prison for 6 months because of
medical problems. Because of his ongoing death strike
he was sent for medical control more than two months
ago and had taken a report from Adana State Hospital
advising that it would be better for him to be
released because of his health-but this report had to
be approved by medical jurisprudence located in
Istanbul. At the beginning Prison Administration
declared that for financial problems they may not send
him to Istanbul immediately-but after forcing some
legal procedures and collecting "needed" money by a
national campaign he was sent to Istanbul on 21st of
October. Istanbul Medical Jurisprudence had approved
the previous report and last evening about 18:00
Dervis returned home. His health was as well as to
speak on phone and told he is OK-sent his best wishes
to all comrades..
