In Wartime propaganda is silence...

"Silence is a dangerous sound...."

" Patriotism is suddenly in fashion across America. Flag-waving has become so popular that the Chinese are actually working overtime to manufacture enough American flags to meet demand."

" Egypt's Nobel Prize-winning author Naguib Mahfouz has called the war on terrorism being waged in Afghanistan "just as despicable a crime" as the September 11 attacks in the United States."

"The "cosmetic" raids were designed to provide a show of something happening on the ground, both for the psychological impact on the Taliban and to appease a US public increasingly frustrated with the slow pace of the war."

PsyOps or typical wartime gobbleygook, you gotta admit the interest is not quite as it was in the weeks right after the WTC incident. As quickly as ever, the horrible images of the WTC are fading and being replaced by the new season of "Buffy", "Ally McBeal", "Roswell" and "The Agency", complete with a whole host of spiffy new commercials. People are shopping again, malls are becoming the bustling community centers they were pre 9/11. Things are going back to normal once again.

And yes, theres a war going on (isn't there?), a huge dragnet pulling in people aroundthe globe, a world policy emerging from the current administration that ethnic groups with gripes with policies get labeled terrorist and could get the "Good 'ol USA" military treatment. A domestic policy that...

Yup, its all going on, but who would know it? What, with Buffy on and the constant images of little squiggling anthrax buggies, you'd think the media is looking at it all under the microscope. It isn't.
