Can you COPEX?
COPEX: Tuesday 30th October – Thursday 1st November 2001
The old enemy is back on the agenda – COPEX. CAAT has managed to budget and raise the energy once again to have a presence at this year’s COPEX. Many supporters may have been surprised to see our exclusion of COPEX from last year’s plans but this was only a short term consolidation of energy levels and finances.
The venue is once again Sandown Race course and last year local campaign groups and affinity groups co-ordinated an effective and brilliant protest. Let us rebuild that level of protest that COPEX generated in past years.
COPEX (Contingency Operations & Procurement Exhibition) was exposed as the market place for instruments of torture (electro-shock batons) in the past. The name COPEX has to peace activists become synonymous with some of the murkier dealsand operations in the arms and procurement industry.
