Anyone Notice Increased Police Activity In Their Areas?

Anyone notice the increased pig prescence?

Just coming home today from central London I saw a police checkpoint on a major road leading into London. They were checking documents and such crap. They had set up teh raod with cones and barriers and had a van waiting. Also a massive increase in cops just cruising around in cars and on foot.. any one else feel they are being watched more as they walk the streets?

Hi wonko,
yep definately noticed lot more patrol cars out in last few days around liverpool. also lot more coming an going at my local cop shop (always like to keep an eye on the fuckers).
Could be on increased level of alert, but nothing in local media saying this!

Oh my god cjb!!!

Hey CJB...

you could be right! I think I've noticed an increased police deployment since September 11th.

D'you think it could represent an increased level of police monitoring then ?!?!?!

D'you want cop suspicious people to post to cjb list their paranoia?

I can tell you that military installations like Flyingdales, Menwith hill and Northwood, all have higher than normal levels of police and MP and military patrols. This has led to a reduction in direct action plans from campaign groups fearing a gun orientated reply to direct action - NO SHIT!

Any demonstration in london, while not attacked for fear of media spin spin pictures of british bobby crews hitting peace protestors, is backed up in the backstreets by loads of riot police - recently about 60 vans have been present for each vigil - NO SHIT.

THINGS *HAVE* CHANGED.

OF COURSE the police are in a heightened state of alert!

CAN YOU BLAME THEM?? given what uk plc is up to?

You might not like the police but not everything they do is wrong or against freedom.

What is more important is not an increased level of cops on the streets but how they act. There have been instances where cops have acted in ways they may have not done before Sept 11th attacks, and this is what counts.

Don't belittle the serious clampdown going on around the world by saying, ooooh there's lots more cops on the streets. OF COUSRE there are. They're at a sharp end, like the firemen/people and the medical staff.

WATCH WHAT ACTIONS ARE TAKEN ON THE STREETS NOT THE NUMBERS

Plus the stuff going on in terms of legislation being proposed is FAR MORE WORRYING - check  http://www.statewatch.org for more info.

Konspiracy?!?!?!

"Plus the stuff going on in terms of legislation being proposed is FAR MORE WORRYING - check  http://www.statewatch.org for more info"

so who is in charge of imposing these legalisations? Do you see blunket wandering around on the streets in south london booking you cos you look like an arab and happen to have a nail bomb on you? NO YOU GET STOPPED BUT THE COPS, they are the tools of the government tehrefore they have to impose this new leglisation. without ppl enforcing it (the police)it wouldnt even be worth thinking about!...

sorry that wasnt articulated very well :)
much love and kisses

Guilty of Playing

23.10.2001 18:52

All children, from six to sixteen year olds, who dare to PLAY, or congregate on my estate have been videoptaped by mobile police units from Holloway and moved on. They are all on film...regardless of whether they are guity of anything. Some have been threatened with anti-social behaviour laws for minor misdemeanors like throwing a ball. The children are afraid to play outdoors, because of the consequences which could be eviction, restriction of movement, curfews or tagging. Children are ILLEGAL!
