more protests needed- USA is of no help

Rob | 14.10.2001 19:37

there must be worldwide protest against this war on afghanistan

unfortunately usa is full of selfish patriots which have taken over the voice of america. There is no voice in america against the assault on the taltiban and afghanistan, and we american anti-war protesters are in a mainly quiet minority, that has no impact whatsoever. There must be constant protest against the war around rest the world, its the only option available, our semi-large country of 300 million people have assumed control of the air, land, and oceans of the middle east, and should be stoppped before irreperable damage is done to countless families in the middle east. Keep the pressure on, we all must make this war pointless.
thank you

Rob

There have been protests in the US, and there have to be. In a lot of ways, the US is the most important place for there to be protests. The US has a strong anti-war tradition too, the anti Gulf war movement in the US was proportionatley bigger than in the UK. And the resistance to the Vietnam war in the US is the model for anti war movements around the world. We nee our Northamerican brothers and sisters to be with us opposing this war. It is not always easy, but don't wait for the rest of the world, build where you are

Sunday October 14: during Italy's traditional peace march from Perugia to Assisi an incredible crowd of at least 250.000 people (some speak of up to half a million) has called for an end of war and terrorism.

peace now

thats great to hear about the italians.
Yes the USA is the most important nation, seeing that our leaders are perpetrating the attacks, but its just such a big country, and even harder now to organize large crowds in the midst of this jingoist BULLSHIT. Every media slut on the television outcries against activism, these are the same people that were on the front line in Nam! It's a sad truth, but the US is hurting for activists, so the world needs to step up if it truly hates what the us is doing, to give us americans that feel the same way some support
