Swiss Cottage Direct Action-fences down twice in 2 nights!

Swiss Cottage Happy Campers | 13.10.2001 18:11

Second Consecutive Night that local people tore down some of the fences round the construction site.
Time to support the 24 hour, 20 something day vigil is NOW.
Work due to start this Monday, constructing a drainage ditch for further works.
Tree camp going up soon, people urgently wanted as are building and climbing material-email us first preferably.

Read the above, AND COME DOWN!
We will be with the Hackney posse on Monday as they try to prevent the sell off of their precious community resources (below) and we invite participants to return with us afterwards via Swiss Cottage.
We are currently waiting to see what the latest council's plans are, following a temporary (8 month) reprieve for the market.
We are planning on mounting a leafletting campaign, epecially around Camden Markets, and are thinking of organising a march in a couple of weeks from Swiss Cottage into Camden.
The main focus at the moment is two-fold: awaiting the judicial review in November, after which the community vcentre and buildings will be vacated, and more importantly gearing up for the possibilty of Direct Action.
To this end we have a wish list of materials to set up a viable camp: Rope (climbing and PolyProp), climbing gear, tree house building materialsm (wood, netting, nails, tools), carpetting (any condition), shovels and digging tools, monkey-like tree climbers and any other people to come down and get involved on site. Please email first:
swisscottagecamp@mail.ru if you can supply any tat. Thanks
