Glasgow peace meeting packed out - and covered on BBC.

The Scottish Coalition for Justice Not War meeting tonight at the Moir Hall in the Mitchell Theatre, Glasgow, was packed. I counted 350 seats, and all were filled - people had to sit on the floor. Speakers included Tariq Ali, Amar Anwar (human rights lawyer), Dorothy Grace Elder (MSP for the SNP), Mohammed Asif (Afghani asylum seeker), Rosie Kane (Scottish Socialist Party) and an American student at Stirling University whose name I unfortunately didn't catch - she spoke very movingly about the burgeoning American peace movement.

The peace movement got almost 15 minutes' airtime on Newsnight Scotland tonight.
