Andre Breton was not a Stalinist !

On Saturday, BBC2 presented a purported quck guide to surrealist film. It managed to avoid Bunuel altogether (quite a slip) but to call Breton a Stalinist was outrageous...
Andre Breton was not a Stalinist, which is why I must publish this belated brief critique. On what evidence did the show allege this ? Because he wrote polictical manifestos.
He did indeed, but one in 1938 was entitled "TOWARDS A FREE REVOLUTIONARY ART , and this was co-writen by Leon Trotsky, who whatever his own faults was certainly NOT a Stalinist, or a member of the weirdo SWP either for that matter !
