400 People March in Liverpool Against the War

People Not Profit, Liverpool England | 30.09.2001 12:40 | Anti-militarism | Liverpool

around 400 people march through Liverpool on Saturday 29th, in protest against the War

Although the demo has hardly adverstised and it was only called a few days previously around 400 people march through the streets, getting a genrally positive response from the public. It ended in a rally on the steps of St Georges Hall, with speakers from the muslim community, local trade unionists, CND, A song from the legendary Mike Field, and a speaker from the Turksish/Kurdish community talking about the ongoing brutality and death fast taking place in and out of Turkish prisons.
People felt that this was only the begginning and a braod based collition against the war is being esablished.
