Naomi, I must take issue with your comments. I spent the month of June out in the states, staying in anarchist housing collectives in Detroit and Philadelphia, I also stayed at the NYC IMC building in Manhatten and can tell you that, contrary to your belief, those dudes are doing everything they can to oppose their sickening corporate system. I have been in contact with them since the suicide attacks and they are, as I expected, putting everything into opposing military action, producing their excellent newspaper the Independent and getting out there talking to people.
I imagine that you are refering to the Americans in general. Well lets look at it here in the UK. The general public are, like Americans, brainwashed into believing the shite spewed out by their TV sets. Also, we have to remember that they have personal lives that take-up most of their time: work, running a home, family etc.
My opinions on America changed forever once I had actually visited the place and checked-out the activist scene.
When I returned to the UK, people were asking me what I thought of Americans, and I'll say the same to you as a did to them.....they're just people. Like us, our mums and dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles.....just people.
