WTC - History repeating itself?

WTC - could Israel be responsible for the attacks?

The attacks on the WTC have done great harm to the Arab world and Islam. It seems bizarre that any pro-Islamic group should deliberately incite so much hatred against Muslims. The backlash against Islam and Arabs was inevitable and predictable. The only group which appears to have benefited from the attack is Israel, who immediately took advantage of the anti-Arab mood by launching new attacks on Palestinians.

Israel has a past history of carrying out terrorist activity intended to be blamed on Arab scapegoats. In 1988, Mossad attempted to damage Anglo-Arab relations by planning a bombing campaign in London. Ismael Sowan, a 28 year old research assistant at Humberside College, was arrested in possession of a large quantity of arms and explosives. At first, as intended, he was assumed to be an arab terrorist. He was in fact an Israeli operative.

At the time Britain was about to re-establish diplomatic links with Syria and had also just signed a contract to sell Saudi Arabia £10,000,000,000 worth of military equipment. Israel's response was to arrange for Sowan to let off bombs in Britain, leaving enough forensic evidence to point to Middle East countries.

Sowan was run by a five man Mossad team operating under the cover of a private company. Upon discovering the Israelis' plot, the Foreign Office expelled two attaches at the Israeli Embassy, and ordered the undercover Mossad team to leave. Sowan received an eleven-year prison sentence.

There is no evidence to suggest that Israel was involved in destroying the WTC. Equally, there is no evidence to suggest that Bin Laden or the Taliban were involved either. However, the is irrefutable, factual evidence that Israel has attempted to blame Arabs for Israeli terrorism in the past.
