Silence for Africa

Do Tony and George have 40 hours to spare?

Today there was a three minutes silence for the 5,000 people thought to have died in the World Trade Centre. On the basis that each death was commemorated by 0.036 seconds of silence, I have calculated that we must also have 40 hours silence for each of the victims of the wars in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, based on the UN estimates that up to 4 million people have died there.
So I propose that thousands of people hold a 40 hour silent vigil at the cenotaph (right outside Downing Street).
Perhaps this would give the British authorities time to reflect on their support for the arms trade, which has equipped the combatants who have murdered innocent civilians in their millions.
Of course, this would never happen since the lives of privileged white Americans are more important than poor African niggers.
