I thought Indymedia was about progressive-thinking people trying to tell the truth about what is going on in the world. This kind of post is a load of mystical bollox implying its all been predicted.
People have quoted Nostradamus to me dozens of times over the years as proof of the world about to end. am I alone in remembering how the birthmark on Gorbachev's head was supposed to be in there somewhere so proving he was going to destroy the world. And there was some crap about Chernobyl too. Well both those examples must be about 15 years - the world did not end, Nostradamus was wrong, it is all mystical bollox.

id like to condemn the events yesterday as acts of wanton stupidity, but it iz typical of the trail of wanton stupidity which follows cia/fbi operatives like bin laden, followin on from their initial act of wanton stupidity, settin up, fundin, and financin neonazi lunatic maniacs like bin laden and his fanatic sheep. its time the ordinary american general public asks wat the fuk are these covert anti insurgence arseholes up to and exactly why they support bin laden and the taliban, and why they hav created these maniacs in the first place, afterall it iz tax payers money which iz being passed on to the taliban, via the cia/fbi.

Calling on film makers and music gurus’

In solidarity with all the faceless cowards who, each and every-day are the victims of state and corporate violence, a project to tip the scales.

Those who orchestrated the strikes on Americana have been labelled faceless cowards by the new figurehead of corporate domination, president Bush. Exposure to the media propaganda, hearing the words of truth, justice and democracy from those who want it only for a few, it occurred to me that a message needs to get through, one that is not being acknowledged by America Public Ltd. From those on the ground in the US it appears that America Public Ltd is baying for blood and not to concerned about the why and the wherefore. If anything positive is to come out this recent tragedy, if the lives lost are to mean anything then the message that needs to get through is that you brought it upon yourselves, yes the truth hurts but grow up and deal with it.

Getting the message through.

A collaboration between film editors and musicians around the world to put together a visual-audio piece that brings this message home. Footage of Bush and Blair harping on about democracy etc with images of American and Nato forces committing acts of violence around the world in the interest of the global economy. Juxtapose images with number of people killed in American and Nato operations over the last decade compared with the number of people killed in terrorist attacks. Definitions of democracy and anarchy, definitions of state sanctioned violence and terrorism. It is time to hold the mirror up to the face of Americana in a language Americana will understand – a corporate music pop single – we are talking a money making opportunity for some schmuck record company, lets see which one takes the bait. If they don’t or that just seems to fucking repugnant, (which it is) it can always go out on CD/DVD and over the net produced and copied on CD burners and writers the world over.

This has to be a global collaboration involving fringe/trendy music makers so that it will have the cred to make it travel – words are never enough, it’s the names on the sleeve that people ‘buy’ into. That or keep it activist and annon – faceless cowards my arse!!!

hmm..I really don't know what's really happened in the last few days from where I am in southern England staring at thousands reading papers and papers of `apocalypse' and the appalling killing of innocent civilians.
Beyond that, I'm pretty worried about the wider implications of this, keeping in mind U.S foreign policy, and generally depressed about the retaliation they are planning. Their policies kill millions and they throw millions at brutal regimes-but suddenly, all life is sacred.

dwight, i too think that the way the buildings collapsed was suspect. i read that the floors were not that thick and the heat from the planes fuel caused the uppper levels to "melt" and cave-in, falling onto other floors and thus collapsing.
however, maybe there were explosives in the building which caused it to fall so neatly.
it all seems a bit graasy knowl to me, mate.

I too thought the way the buildings collapsed was strange. It was talked about quite a bit at school the next day. A physics instructor gave us a quick lesson/demonstration. It can be summed up as such: The forces that caused the buildings to fall were not directly the blows from the plane hitting but rather vibrations running down, then back up the huge length of the buildings. This caused the infrastructure of the building to "melt" into smaller and less stable pieces of the larger, original beams and blocks that were holding the building up. eventually the force was to great for the reduced infrastructure and the entirety of the building spilled in and around itself. He set up a demo at the sand tables which partially backed up the explanation. It sounds like as good a theory as any I've heard anybody else come up with as some buildings dealing with vibrations from earthquakes tend to collapse in a similar manner.
