Three people were arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of daubing anti-arms trade slogans on buildings close to the DSEi arms fair at the Excel centre in London docklands.

Three people were arrested at 11pm on Sunday night, on suspicion of daubing anti-arms trade slogans on buildings close to the Excel centre, where the Defence Systems Equipment International exhibition is taking place.

They were held for 23 hours at Forest Gate police station, before being released late on Monday evening. They were bailed not to enter the E16 area until their court appearance later this month. They are facing charges of criminal damage or intent to cause criminal damage.

Anti arms trade activists are expected to mount a non-violent direct 'action camp' against the arms fair from Tuesday. More details will be distributed at the demonstrations on Tuesday.
