Five more arrested at G-8 summit are released. Good! Only 26 more to go - almost all German nationals. This is very discriminatory! We must protest!

ROME (AP) — Five more people arrested during last month's riots at the Group of Eight summit were released Thursday and were expected to be expelled shortly from Italy, a defense lawyer said.

The release of the three Austrians, an Australian and a Slovak came after a court in Genoa, where the summit was held, ordered them freed.

The five were arrested July 22 along with other members of an Austrian theater group as they were leaving Genoa in a caravan of vehicles.

They had been held since in Alessandria, 35 miles north of Genoa, the ANSA news agency reported.

Lawyer Andrea Sandra said the five would be expelled from the country.

Twenty people belonging to the same group had been released on Tuesday, including American student Susanna Thomas, a Quaker who was traveling with the Austrian Publix Theater group.
