The (Welsh) Green Gathering is one of the liveliest Green events in this country. It is the highlight of the annual calendar for thousands of members, activists and supporters of the Green movement

Here is an insight to the reasoning behind the police objections to the Gathering when misinforming the respective councils:

Dyfed Powys Police licensing officer, Tony Davies: "I'm afraid that if the festival went ahead we would be left with 25 acres of land which would be filled with human waste, diesel and cannabis, as well as other matters which I will not go into".

"Thousands of travellers... to descend on the county" and that these "travellers from Scotland, Ireland and beyond would probably never leave Wales"

Hmmm - are the police just ill-informed, racist, right-wing nutters or the council naive, police puppets ... or are they both! Does it matter!! The fact is that the Welsh Green Gathering is off and as a result the cops have spoiled our summer ... so why not fax the killjoys and let'em know your irritation!
