"HIROSHIMA" MEANS DISARM!

The People of Hiroshima have a message for the world... NEVER AGAIN WAR!

"HIROSHIMA" MEANS DISARM!
"HIROSHIMA" MEANS DISARM!

On August 6, 1945, at exactly 8:15 in the morning, the Atomic age began with the vaporization of the City of Hiroshima and many of it's occupants. Today, fifty six years later... 50,000 people gathered in Hiroshima's Peace Park to remember the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians who perished in the world's first (and hopefully last), Nuclear Holocaust. Mako Utsumi (right) and her brother Kotaro sit on the banks of the Motoyasu river in Hiroshima after placing floating paper lanterns in the river to honor the spirits of those who perished in the Atomic fire (Photo by Susumu Takahashi).

To commemorate the 56th Anniversary, ART FOR A CHANGE is presenting an exhibition of 12 Paintings by the hibakusha (Atom Bomb Survivors). The works are accompanied by text and the testimony of the Artists. The hibakusha Art can be found at the following URL;
