G8: Austria asks repatriation of arrested, Ruggiero says no
The Foreign Secretary Renato Ruggiero has fefused the Austrian government's request for a transfer to Vienna of the Austrian demonstrators so far detained in Italy after the G8 in Genoa.
The news has been revealed today by the Austrian Foreign Secretary, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, who, in a short radio interview, confesses to be "worried by the indecent treatment" that the Austrian deteined in Italy are being subject to by the Italian police forces.
"I consider unjustifyable such behavior - Ferrero-Waldner said - and I therefore ask to the Italian authorities to fully investigate the facts".
This morning, the lawyer for the Austrian women detained in Voghera jail said that his assisted have denounced to have been sexually molested by the Italian policemen ( http://www.kataweb.it/kwnews/nazionali/nazionali_98415.html).
