Queen mum a bit closer to dying

BBC News | 01.08.2001 17:11

Hopefully this royal parasite won't trouble us for much longer and she'll keel over and finally die. She's been sponging off the taxpayer for 101 years and lives a life of luxury while many of her subjects live below the poverty line.

The Queen has said her mother needs "a good rest more than anything else". She made the comment at an official engagement on Wednesday after her mother was admitted to hospital suffering from anaemia. A Clarence House spokesman confirmed the Queen Mother had received a blood transfusion at the private King Edward VII hospital in central London. Such a procedure is usually only carried out in cases of severe anaemia. However aides have played down fears over her condition, insisting the 100-year-old, who celebrates her 101st birthday on Saturday, was not seriously ill. She was diagnosed with anaemia - a shortage of red blood cells - when she underwent tests after suffering mild heat exhaustion on Tuesday.
