At first glance this article seems good. when you read more carefully the old prejudices are still there.
Article from the Guardian's comments section by Polly Toynbee.
may fave bits are where she talks of '...the wilder nonsense of anti-capitalism' and then goes on to say 'It is time to spell out the European way against the American way, to champion more social control over the damage globalisation does, while praising the good it can do too.' (OK Polly now show us some evidence of the good it can do)
What really does it for me is when she says 'a handful of hell-raisers with pick handles can hijack any agenda, even if the slogans of the violent veer from incoherent to non-existent'. come on-change the record. On the next line she states that labour has done more than any government on third world aid. with this rubbish who needs alistair cambell?
