"Delyn (Flintshire) Conservative Office Has Been FLANNED"
Horrible Racism Highlighted by Non-Violent Direct
Action

A new direct action group, FLAN, has launched a
peaceful ambush on Conservative Party Offices in
Holywell, Flintshire. Stickers have been stuck all
over the windows as part of a public awareness raising
campaign that expresses utter disgust at the links of
the Conservative Party with neo-nazis and racists.

A FLAN spokesperson said: "Our weapons are our
stickers. These stickers express our desire for Wales
to be a 'Nazi Free Zone'. We find it disgusting that
the Conservative Party has direct links with racists -
though it is not surprising that such links exist."

Referring to former Tory campaigner Edgar Griffin's
links to the racist British National Party, the
spokesperson added: "We at FLAN find it particularly
abhorrent that a member of the Conservative Party in
Wales has been found to have direct links with the
racist BNP. The Conservative Party is now trying to
distance itself from Mr Griffin. However their Media
Machine cannot cover up the fact that Tory policies
are deeply xenophobic and that the leadership hopeful,
Iain Duncan Smith, attracts undesirable and racist
elements."

FLAN's criticism extends to the recent British
National Party rally that was held in Powys earlier
this month. This rally was organised by Edgar
Griffin's son Nick Griffin: "On August 11th and 12th
the BNP held a fascist rally in Welshpool.
Unfortunately the Welsh and English police forces
operated, basically, as a paramilitary service for the
BNP. They police gave the BNP a free reign throughout
mid-Wales - this was totally disgraceful, intolerable
and utterly offensive."

FLAN added: "Meanwhile peaceful anti-nazi protesters
were not allowed to march by the police in Welshpool
on Saturday 11th August. Peaceful protesters were
trapped in a corner by police for over 4 hours and
were subject to unwarranted and unjustified police
harassment."

The FLAN spokesperson continued: " The Tories are not
the only problem, New Labour's record is abysmal. Over
30 asylum seekers have been on a hunger strike in
Cardiff prison because of the violation of their human
rights by the British State. New Labour is overseeing
this system of institutional racism and police
repression."

FLAN refers to Flintshire Action Network, it is a
newly established non-violent direct action group for
Flintshire. It will continue to take peaceful actions
for the cause of ecological and social justice in
North East Wales and beyond! In addition to racism,
FLAN is also concerned about department stores that
profit from sweatshops, supermarkets that monopolise
the local economy and rip-off local farmers, and oil
companies that have a blatant disregard for the
environment and human rights.
