The missing are being calleddesaparecidos, a reference to the disappeared of the Argentinian dictatorship.
"We are continuing to carry out checks but we don't know what has become of these people. They are not in jail, not in hospital and quite frankly we don't think they have gone to the beach, as [Foreign] Minister [Renato] Ruggiero ironically suggested," said Vittorio Agnoletto, a spokesman for the forum.

The social forum also charged that at least 18 people, many of them foreigners, were still unaccounted for a week after the summit.

A list please!

First step, we need a LIST OF NAMES of those believed to be missing. As things stand now the "authorities" CAN make silly excuses like "maybe they're at the beach". Publishing a list with requests like "if you're OK please check in" and "if anybody has seen one of these people after time/date X please supply whatever info you can".

Probably not 100% of the missing are actually missing, a few are probably OK but just don't know that they are considered "lost". Then we can concentrate on the rest.
