Avvocato Carlo Taormino is an Under Secretary at the Italian Justice ministry he is also a practising Lawyer, there has been some debate about the blatant conflict of interest, which seem to be perfectly normal in Italy.
Taormino has represented Berlusconi in some of his many corruption trials. Taormina also represented Berlusconi’s brother Paolo in his corruption trial, he is an expert at stalling the legal system and thereby insuring that his clients cases never come to court.. His high profile clients include the mafia boss Toto Reina and various right wing big shots. He also defended some of the members of the ‘banda della magliana’ a gang of viscious criminals with right wing connections who carried out murders and various other underworld crimes, they terrorised Rome in the 1970’s. It makes you wonder , in the last year three books have been published cataloging Berlusconi’s crimes, but it is very unlikely he’ll ever be bought to justice.
