the summer of resistance goes on - the anti-racist border camp in frankfurt (germany) starts tomorrow!
noborders.nonations!
noborders.nonations!
The summer of resistance still goes on - join the Frankfurt
border camp!
The fourth anti-racist border camp will take place in Frankfurt
(Germany) from 27 July to 5 August.
The last camps were situated at the eastern borders of
Germany (Poland / Czech Republic), focussing on the
militarized racist border regime of the European Union. An
effect of this militarization of the 'frontier' is a growing number
of refugees trying to get into the EU via the airports. Frankfurt
was chosen for this year's campaign as Frankfurt Airport is one
of the largest international 'gateways' to Europe.
You are white, you are rich, you are invited to comfort yourself
in Frankfurt Hilton, you are black, you are poor - you'll face the
border regime isolated in the airport's own deportation jail. We
are sorry, that the german paramilitary federal police forces (BGS) -
your caretakers here - cannot guarantee for your life, several
deadly 'accidents' had to be 'deplored' during the last years.
Besides our activities against the border regime, the camp will be the
place to campaign against:
* The expulsion of 'dangerous classes' and sans-papiers in a
climate of control, surveillance and repression in the economic
center of Germany.
* Frankfurt's absurd candidature for the Olympic summer
games in 2012 - let's remember the experiences from
Amsterdam's and Berlin's successfull NOlympics campaigns.
* The cynical gentrification process in Frankfurt downtown, a
deserted place, a Yuppie's dream of chrome, steel and fragile
:-) glass .
* And last but not least: Let's not forget our comrade Carlo
Giuliani who was murdered by EU-cops while fighting for a
better life!
Hasta la victoria siempre!

Frankfurt - Borders R Everywhere but so R We

Last Saturday i participated in the action against the detention centre 4 immigrants @ Campsfield Oxfordshire, England.
Because the police had evicted before the action the base camp @ Campsfield, the majority of us ended up parading around Oxford citycentre, though a small brave minority actualy made their way out to detention center @ Campsfield,
Effectively this did not help the people who are subject to detention at the moment. Indeed it may have made conditions worse for the current inmates. Perhaps posibly it might have prevented more people being detained @ Campsield. Don't know, But....
I think the focus of the Frankfurt group on the airport as major border crossing point is right!
Because:
Capitalism is allowing the free movement of goods/ capital, but not people - and this happens in the same physical space as the western consumers depart 4 their holidays -i.e. the AIRPORTS!
Therefore;
MAYBE THE AIRPORTS R A POINT WHERE WE Could EFFECTIVELY INTERVENE - so why not have a carnival 4 freedom in a major airport
Also , another idea 2 take thing 4ward:
It's the private Companies like Group 4 who runs most of the detention centres and profit from this human misery, Maybe people ought to put some thought into actions which intervene to raise awareness about Group 4 activities - so that companies like Group 4 are made to reconsider B4 they exploit the poor & vunerable of our world.
