I can remember so many poetic moments, and I’ve never held so many people’s hands or embraced so many strangers. I also heard several songs that people wrote during the events and some just after the raid that were beautiful – I hope they publish or record them to share with other people.

One image I have stuck in my mind is holding this girls hand moving backwards out of a crowd to escape the oncoming police charge as a canister of tear gas exploded right behind her – it made her look like an angel :)

At the start of the march I was quite near the front between the RfC (reformed communists party) and the group of international types who each held a little board on a stick, when they all mixed together it was hard to tell where they were from, unless they were actually holding the
little plaque. a lot of them didn't speak english or italian
they just smiled and we walked along together
we lost them after a while. They were just a bunch of ordinary people from ever corner of the planet. I live in Italy speak Italian and was in the company of people from Milano and genova, they were listening to reports from Radio
populare who had journalists on the scene reporting back live to the studio and bringing us the good news. We were trapped
in a ring of state violence . Even when we thought we had escaped past the prison and then past the stadium the riot polce arrived and started attacking the people queing up to get back on their coaches.
I don't know what happened to all those Olympic contestants but it really plays on my mind.
I wish we had all have got tooled up and given those cops what they deserved ... then i come home to my kids and they ask me what happened daddy ?? and I have to tell them the truth a bunch of fascist pigs dressed up as cops beat the shit out of the people, and my kids ask, but what did you do didn't you stop them ??? .. you could have hit them .....
