Take me to your leader

26.07.2001 13:43

An activist told me that GR has no leaders and all
decisions ar made thru consensus. So why is
Guy Taylor or Chris Nighem or Jonathan Neale
{all SWP hacks} being held up as leaders?? Was
this agreed by concensus??.

There are meetings on Saturday which clash
with the Big action at the Embassy, I think most anti-capitalists will go to that and not to the meetings
thankfully.

On the Resist.org.uk website only the names of
unison people arrested were put up. One comment
from a SWP member was that "GR are concentrating
on just getting these two released". So much for solidarity.

I hope next time that GR learn something from going
to actions here or in europe. Advise people to get into
affinity groups, supply people with gas masks, wear
some crash helmets and warn people of potentially
violent situations. This is what being RESPONSIBLE is.

What really happened?

26.07.2001 17:16

We are going to be told what really happened are we? After Prague the SWP omitted some important details from their reporting. Such as the success of the pink and silver and blue routes, the way that they broke their agreement to go to the conference center on the South Route, how they bravely hid behind Ya Basta, didn’t contribute to the central communications etc etc,

These report back meeting will no doubt finish with a speech exhorting the audience …@and that’s why we need a revolutionary party so join the SWP

Lets get the truth out- 300,000 marched!

Its great to come back from the unity of Genoa to the usual sectarian shit.

As I understand it GR has a steering group that was elected. Are you seriously suggesting that something like report back meetings should be undertaken on the basis of consensus of all members? Exactly which organisation has this strategy been sucessful for and where and when are there meetings?

Its up to everybody that went to get the truth out, I think enough journalists got beaten up or arrested (The Times, the Sunday Telegraph buisness corespondent!) that even the right wing media has not been able to hold its black block baby eaters line. We need to tell people that 300,000 marched despite massive police intimidation and that this movement is unstopable.

STOP LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE

26.07.2001 20:41

Edmonton, North London report back meeting was the usual kind of SWP front stuff, anarchists bad, socialists good, all power to the workers, build the union fightback sort of stuff. Still at least Globalise Resistance is doing something, though mosst of this meeting were SWP members.

The next big Globalise Resistance is a protest match at Labour Party conference, Sun 30 September, Brighton. Protest? Lobby? Don't make me larf. We want to blockade, stop that conference happening, for 12, 24, 48 hours as long as we can. Isn't it about time good old blighty has its own Genoa, Gothenburg, Prague. All the Globalise Resistance speakers were against this, 'fraid it might upset Labour Party activists! C'mon, if they're half decent they'll be cheering us on!
