Thats interesting. I've noticed all Indymedia sites being a bit funny recently. It may be the feds, but more likely the fact that there was major action in Bonn and Genoa and many people were jamming the sites. Don't forget, the mainstream press use the sites now so it's probably jammed up with greasy tabloid hacks 24hrs a day!

i bet the feds would have liked to bring Indymedia into trouble or down, but it was indeed the heavy strain from all the demand. fri/sat the techteam actually had to resort to improvisation with a load sharing code. it is amazing that they kept indymedia actually running. but there are still a few bugs to be ironed out, so bear with us.

Nah, what's happened is...

...someone has registered uk.indymedia.COM
with YourNameFree.com

And some browsers will expand "uk.indymedia"
to that...

As I recently discovered, most users out
there have no idea at all of the meaning
of .COM - they think it means "on the
web", if they think.

A bit of a problem.

fair play, the tech team did a good job, there was only intermittent problems amazing when u consider how many hits indymedia must have been getting

Is there any plans to expand - perhaps some system where people can mirror the site easily? i know a couple of ppl with a 512k cable connection, not much, but if lots of ppl shared a little bit of the load it might help?
