Currently in the anti-border camp in Krynki, Poland, an ambiance of peace pervades. There are no problems with the police, although the police previously had threatened the possibility of violent actions against participants. About 250 people, many coming from foreign countries, are participating in the camp situated about 10 kilometers from the Belorussian border. According to one of the organizers, the atmosphere is very pleasant. However, in the surrounding area, a powerful force of border guards confronts people leaving the camp, surveys their documents, and records their names.
Yesterday's demonstration in Bialystok against Fortress Europe occurred more quietly than expected. The only small encounter took place at the governor's office. Fearing that demonstrators will storm the office, police began to push people back, away from the office building. However, demonstrators had not intended to storm it, and the therefore the incident quickly ended. Nobody has been detained and only one policeman was slightly wounded.
