Police bullying tactics silence police corruption scandal

Not the Guardian, that's for damn sure! | 04.07.2001 19:36

Two Guardian reporters tell how their investigation into police corruption and links with organised crime at the highest level were silenced by bullying tactics.

Following the Stephen Lawrence enquiry, the Guardian newspaper decided to investigate police corruption. The police weren't too happy about this as you can imagine. So, they embarked on a campaign of intimidation, threats, and outright abuse, including assault in a court of law, to force the Guardian to gag their own journalists.

The Guardian buckled.

Doesn't surprise me at all. The cops have never been too hot on real criminals. They are very good at bashing innocent people to death. The unsustainable part of our society is completely in the hands of criminals who somehow
very rarely have their collars felt . apart from drugs,
all the waste from the petro chemical industry and other assorted nasties are all 'disposed of' by the same people.
Not to mention the arms trade . It would be interesting to
know just what percentage of business is controlled by the
mafia ..

an I say 2 myself what a wonderfull world !!!!
