going to genoa

Just done it!

gone!

am I paranoid?

04.07.2001 00:14

Not to sound to wild-eyed, but is one of the reasons flights to Genoa are being hyped so much by "some persons" here is that the press or whomever can use the above comments as "proof" that all protestors are rich, spoiled brats?

Wouldn't surprise me if they did...

hmmmm

WTF?

04.07.2001 01:56

What the fuck are you wittering on about mate?

I'm a van driver and I could afford £100 pounds for a ticket to Genoa. Am I rich and spoilt? Or are you?

You need to stop judging people you've never met.

for real

yeah mate,
its like the media calls protestors 'puritanical socialist workers' 'on the dole anarchist yobs' and 'misguided middle class crusties'. Basically what they're saying in their usual uncomplimentary fashion is that there's a whole range of people involved in the anti corporatism movement. Yeah £100 ain't that much relatively - think how much yr average person spends on a holiday or a night out clubbing. But then again think how far it goes in the 3rd world.

£100?

Genoa airport closed 19 -22 July

04.07.2001 16:49

Just in case anyone hasn't seen this yet, Genoa airport is shutting (to us mere mortals at least) for the duration of the G8. If you already have a ticket to Genoa on those dates, Ryanair will be sending you to Turin instead, so bring money for the bus to Genoa.

-------------------------

SPECIAL NOTICE
GENOA AIRPORT

As a result of the G8 Summit meeting being held in Genoa in July of this year, Genoa Airport will be closed to all commercial traffic between Thursday 19th July and Sunday 22nd July inclusive. Ryanair flights between London Stansted and Genoa will therefore be cancelled during this period.

Ryanair passengers with reservations to or from Genoa on these dates will be accommodated on extra flights to Turin. Passengers will be responsible for their transportation to and from Turin Airport.

Please call Ryanair Direct on (from U.K.) 0870 333 1251 or (from Italy) 199 114 114 to re-confirm your booking.

We regret any inconvenience caused by these changes which are due entirely to circumstances beyond our control.

Travel Chaos ?

05.07.2001 12:51

When it comes to tourism, looks like even northern Italy may pay an economic price - - - the same as "Israel" is going thru these days with the Intafada II.

All us anti-globalists and anti-zionists just
might have a thing or two in common ! ! !
