GM FARM PROTEST LEADS TO SIX ARRESTS

Six people have been arrested during a 100-strong demonstration against genetically modified crops.

Police said the men and women were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage at Sunnymead Farm, Wivenhoe, in Essex.

GM protesters had organised a Carnival Against The Crop event at Wivenhoe.

Eleven people were aquitted at Harwich Magistrates Court earlier this week of damaging GM maize on the same farm.
