Police will shoot, Salzburg summit protesters warned
By Michael Leidig in Vienna

AUSTRIA has given police permission to shoot protesters if violence gets out of hand at an economic summit in Salzburg this weekend.

Major Rudolf Gollia, a senior adviser to the Interior Minister, said: "We don't want a repeat of what happened in Gothenburg but we will use guns if we have to." Three demonstrators were shot and wounded by police in the Swedish city during anti-capitalist protests at the European Union summit this month.

So not only are the stasi allowed to shoot innocent people, no they can use their media to put out threatening language?

Imagine the uproar if an anarchist or socialist publication did an article saying "Protestors warn police: we will shoot you if you use violence"

But then again, it's the story of modern democracy: One dollar, one vote.

It's a summer's day in China and thousands of people take to the streets in a pro-democracy protest. There is a bit of trouble and the Chinese 'People's' Army respond by firing on protesters...

How do you think Dubya and Bleurgh would react to that?
