How come Holland does not have an Indy Media node?

Whilst I was travelling home from the recent May Day demo in London I had the luck to bump into my brother, who was travelling from Holland. He had been to the orange day festivities in Amsterdam, and witnessed first hand a big demo outside the main station involving tear gas etc. So obviously Holland has its share of anti-globalisation activist, so how come no Indy Media?

There is a Dutch IMC in the pipe line - groups from the 'climate' imc (from last years climate talks in Den Haag) and other 'alternative' media groups in the Netherlands are working together to form an IMC. One of the 40 or so IMC's planned to start round the world...

protests during may in Amsterdam

The riot on Orange day had nothing to do with anti-capitalism: trains were delayed, people got angry and the station had to be closed. Unfortunately, May Day protests like those in London do not take place in the Netherlands. Perhaps because everybody has a hangover from Queen's Day (Orange Day), but more likely because any substantial opposition against capitalism, globalisation, etc. in lacking in the Netherlands
